Parameters & Events in 5G Logs

You may wanna check TS 38.133 v15 table 9.1.2-2.

Hi @Cesar_Nunes. My check in your log.
When you use NSA mode and anchor is LTE, you can add SCG/modify/release.
There is no handover kind of thing from SCG1 and SCG2 in NSA 3X option (If some one want to add here, please add).
Once SCG-1 becomes poor (NR A2), anchor LTE can decide to release it, and then if SCG-2 NR cell 2 is better (NR B1), then can decide to add it.

Ok, but it is not Handover.
First is a SCG release and after is SCG add, am I correct?

Yes, correct.
And to summarize, there is no handover possible between n1 and n78 from your logs.

Just to add a small info, some vendor implement NR a3, but still, it would need a removal and addition.

And one more thing I want to tell you here, event A4 you mention above is not for inter frequency handover, but it is for SCell addition for CA.

A4 is in LTE not in NR…LTE3200 (Band 7).
Carrier 3200 is LTE.

Yes right.
But you mention it for Inter frequeny handover for LTE.
But it is for SCell addition in LTE.

Ok, sorry for the confusion.

And thank you all guys very much for you support!

I still have a question: Look in my msg that the NB sent two events a2: One to PSCell removal and other to Inter-Freq coverage. My question is still: My UE supports or not Inter-Freq coverage to NSA?

It was said that in NSA there is no Handover but according this picture from Huawei: SgNB Change : If an inter-SgNB PSCell change is required, the target PSCell can be an intra- or inter-frequency cell of a neighboring base station.

It’s possible for NSA.
Both intra and inter freq.

Now I’m confused. :frowning:
There is or not HO in NSA?

@marcengo, a3 is for Intra-Frequency.
I am talking about Inter-Frequency.

@Cesar_Nunes, what issue in HO there we have similar events.
Only we discussed for inter Freq possible or not but now it’s confirmed inter Freq possible as well.
Why it’s mentioned no HO in NSA.
And Yes, we have it.
You can call it HO from pscell 1 to pscell 2 which can be intra or inter Freq.
It can be intra gnb or inter gnb.

Ok.
I understood that yes, there is inter-fre ho between SCG1 and SCG2.

Now, back to the main question:
Based on my layer3 messages, my UE support or not the INTER-FREQ HO?

Ok that need to check.
Can you please give your L3 message sample?

Here it is.

Between Band1 (423000) and Band78 (633322).

UU.zip (102.3 KB)

Ok.
Band 1 FDD and band 78 on TDD.
How many SSB there with band 78?

15 kHz for Band 1 (fdd) and 30Khz for band 78 (TDD).

There is no handover technically in 5G SCG all HO happens in Menb and nit gnb.
Only scg addition and release similar to CA scell addition and release in LTE.
