Parameter in gNB to control type1-Singlepanel-ri-restriction IE

Ok, like CA it means UE indicates combo for ENDC band.
Please tell in which message I can see band combo for B3 + N41.

In UE capability, like this:

image

You will find many of them.
Not easy to decode.
This is why cacombos is way easier to do it.
Just find UE type.

Here I’m finding 4 layers for 30 kHz.
My query is that can I find B3 + N41 info in UE capability showing layers info.

As you shown below:

Yes there should be a band combination, search for it.

Where I can find exact name for IE.

Like in this picture, featureSetsDownlinkPerCC:

That is showing per SCS not for band combo.
I’m seeing item 0 ,1 here.
How can this be band?

0, 1, 2 are the bands. Go check which one is for yours.

CC means carrier component, so there should be two 0, 1:

  • 0 for B3
  • 1 for N41.

But is a long list.

It says IE maxNumberMIMO-LayersPDSCH : fourLayers

Because upwards it is defined what 0 and 1 means.
Go check upwards in ue capab.

Thanks really helpful.
Item 1 here B41.
I m finding item 1 having 4 layers only.
Item 0 also 4 layers.

What this item 2, 3 refer which band here.

List the UE capability in a txt message and I can have a look.

I got some hint here, let me tell.
Item 1 and item 3 both indicates band n41.
But what I find for item 1 layers as 4?

this is what you need to look after:

For item 3 layers as 2 only.
That can be issue here so network confused.
And assign ri restriction to 2 only.

You have to give up.
Look how many band combinations you have to search inside:

It is impossible to scroll down so much.
Wait to get the phone type and then you can easily check in cacombos.
Otherwise is a nightmare.

Really tedious. :frowning:
Please check my correlation which I find for item 1 and 3 both indicates n41.

Update:

@RFSpecialist thanks for wonderful support.
Issue solved it’s happening due to multiple n41 band info with 2 layers and 4 layers so network get confused.
That’s why ri restriction seen 0011.

Message is that we can’t always blame network, many times UE as well malfunction.

Yes, sure.
We need to look at ue and gNB.
And users failures sometime too…

In UE cap, if you see maxNumberMIMO-LayersPDSCH twoLayers, mans UE supports only 2 layer and it is normal the gNB configure RI with 2 layers.
