You can check in your configuration.
@Indraparin says that it reports csi but without rsrp.
I say that it reports csi with rsrp.
I think @Indraparin meant the normal RI ,PMI & CQI which can be interpreted as Channel state Information, and not CSI-RI or CRI.
Not sure about that.
So, @Indraparin, let’s clarify the confusion/question.
Do You say that in Huawei you do not see this cri reports with best beams in logs?
Exactly, do see it in CSI report?
Oh, ok.
So is it sub-1 GHz then?
In sub-1Ghz I also never saw CSI-RSRP.
@Indraparin also says that according to configuration just csi beam is reported and rsrp of that beam is not reported.
But then how gNodeB will decide among 4 beams reported which one to use?
Nope, it’s Huawei sub-6 with 8 SSB beam.
Hi @RFSpecialist, I think better also to check your config to confirm.
I’ve check in some networks.
Right, there should definitely be UE measurement reports to gNB about the CSI resource elements.
In the example provided above you saw that rsrp is also reported not just the csibeam.
This is the one without RSRP, right?
Yes, it is.
What is the parent tree of this message?
Under this:

Though it is not explicitly mentioned in reporting quantity as CSI-RSRP , the Ue reports the same in MAC CSF Info.
Now someone have to answer why this happens .
So guys, let’s sumarize a bit 2 days of discusions.
Now it is clear how it happens (CSI-RS beams or SSB beams used for beam switching in mobility) for other vendors, it is not clear how it happens for Huawei.
Key IE is this one:
This is from 3GPP possible values for reportquantity IE.
All the other IE (like TCI-present in DCI, TRS-info and periodic) are correlated with this IE.
Here is an example for each case:
Rrc connection reconfiguration from 2 different vendors.
After beam switching , is RACH with new SSB/CSI-RS required or not required ?
