How can we confirm from UE Caps whether a UE supports NSA only or it supports SA also?

Hi Experts,
How can we confirm from UE Caps whether a UE supports NSA only or it supports SA also?

rat-Type nr.
SupportedbandNR.
And their respective subsets.
Example available on:

http://www.sharetechnote.com/html/5G/5G_UE_Capability.html

Wouldn’t this be reported even in case of NSA?

Hi Experts.
Does anybody know how to confirm which bands UE supports for NRDC using UE cap?

Try cacombos.com.
Easy to find out for any phone.

Thanks @RFSpecialist, but I am trying to look more from Specs perspective how can we confirm from UE Cap.

Search “UE-MRDC-Capabilities” in msg and scroll down and see in “supportedBandCombinationList”.

The supportedBandCombinationList should return the CA band combos.
How to differentiate between CA band combos and DC ones?
Thanks

In UE mrdc capability->supportedbandcombinationlist,

there are endc combo only…

In a single combi set, Band which can do both DL+UL will be the primary one… rest DL only one can be added as CA

Hummm, I think there’s some confusion.
I am looking for NRDC specific band combos.
Would you know which IE will contain them?

Is your primary Core 5G and you are adding LTE as secondary?

No, both RANs are NR.
MCG and SCG.
And core is 5GC.

This would be NEDC.

Sorry I thought you meant MRDC.

Yes correct.

I haven’t seen the NRDC cap msg, but differentiation based as FR1 and FR2 bands can’t be done? FR1 being the primary.

Sorry, didn’t get your point.
What you mean differentiation?

I mean you must be utilising sub6 with mmWave.
So you can segregate sub6 and mmwave in combinations list, right?
That should give the info about bands which will be connected in dual mode.

In combination list it will tell me about CA, whether FR1+FR1 or FR1 +FR2.
How do I make out which out of the band combos is the also supported for NRDC?

FR1+ FR2 I suppose

Even FR1 + FR1 is possible.
But in any case, even if we go for FR1 +FR2, that would be listed as CA band combination in Band combination list IE.
How do we make sure we are can use it for NRDC?

Hi Nitin,

IE ca-ParametersNRDC is indication to support of NRDC

From 38.331
ca-ParametersNRDC
If the field is included for a band combination in the NR capability container, the field indicates support of NR-DC. Otherwise, the field is absent.

I think, in UE Cap info → “supportedBandCombinationList_v1560”, we can see “ca-ParametersNR-v1560 “ & “ca_ParameterNRDC”.
If these field are present, then corresponding band combinations in “supportedBandCombinationList” support NR CA , NR DC respectively.

Hope , this answers your query
