X2 HO failure trigger

Hi, I would like to trigger a x2 handover during execution phase to observe 2 different chipset of the device.
normally when handover is not triggered or failed, UE still moves to target cell with TAU active flag QCI9-5.
To simulate a x2 ho failure execution , what we can do in bts?

  • I have tried t304 timers, s1ho is already blocked. only allowed x2 ho
  • target cell coverage cant be attenuated quickly, only step by step.(no digital atenuation)
  • i have tried creating pci conflict, same pci source/target cell same rootseq index (this is a prep failure)
    Thanks!
Note: This test is to be done under lab node.

It seems you are in a controlled environment so my only advice is to do it while UE trace is running on in PCC and you can see a live screen while you are doing it.I know this can be achived via Ericsson PCC.

By the way Ericsson PCC is the node contains AMF/SMF/MME/PGW-C.PGW-U and UPF is in PCG.

Is it test environment or real network?

Lab test to simulate a problem

Require ideas for Nokia vendor. A solution that suggested should be at enb side that I appreciate. Core part is live but enb is under Lab.
Thanks

You might need to trigger RACH failure.
I am not sure about nokia config but typically this could be done by having the UE outside the configured cell range/radius. This range/radius is typically corrolated to zero correlation zone config of random access

yes, zerocorrelation zone is mapped to prachcs in nokia, i set it to 1 and set same rootseqindex for source and target cell , still ho isOK

Forget about the source
For the target, ZCZC related to certain cell radius. If UE is away from the target by more than this distance, RACH fails and hence HO fails

This could be done via actual distance of by introducing delay in transmissions e.g DAS
