Why for 5G SSB isn't defined in the middle of the cell bandwidth like LTE?

Hi All Experts.

Does anyone has an idea why for 5G SSB isn’t defined in the middle of the cell bandwidth like LTE?

What is the benefit that SSB can be on different places than what we see in LTE?

What is the logic here?

I see also SSB has its own SCS than the SCS of resource grid as well.

What is the idea behind of SSB transmitted on different spaces and not static DC freq as LTE?

  1. SSB fixed with location not defined due to implementation point for BWP.
We have larger bandwidth moving to the center frequency via - 100khz raster [LTE] is challenging

Here 20 RBs are fixed location may vary as per NR-ARFCN-Band / GSCN based on RAN OEM implementations which makes the search quite easier for SSB.

  1. Different SCS allowed for the SSB is also one of the major reason for BWP as we can settle SSB in any different location.

Note: whereas we have NCD-SSB also which you can read here may be all conclusive answer will give you details👇🏻
