Why Am I Seeing High Downlink Throughput on QCI 1 (Voice) in a Private 5G Cell?

Hi all,

I would like to understand what my private 5G cell is doing and why I’m observing this behavior.

I’m connecting a Huawei phone to the cell and running TCP traffic mapped to QCI 1 (voice/video service class - typically for audio and real-time conversational traffic).

However, I’m seeing around 20–25 Mbps downlink throughput, while I would normally expect something closer to ~100 kbps for voice.

Voice traffic is usually low throughput, with small packets sent every 20 ms, so this seems unexpected.

Why would QCI 1 traffic show such high throughput?
What would be the purpose of having tens of Mbps over a voice bearer?

Any insights would be appreciated.
