When UE first tries to camp on cell and find SSB does this SSB necessarily has to be in Coreset0?

Hi Experts.

When UE first tries to camp on cell and find SSB does this SSB necessarily has to be in Coreset0?

Admin note: this post was updated with image below.

SSB is not in coreset#0…
But cs#0 is relative to SSB.

If the query is if SSB will always have a associated cs#0 in this case the answer is yes.

I meant to ask whether the SSB carrying the MIB is necessarily in coreset 0.

ssb is 20 rbs in special symbols in a slot generaly, coreset 48 prbs and duration configured, depends on type0searchcoreset parameter.

Is SSB always not in coreset0?

SSB is never in cs#0… but it is cs#0 which may or may not be associated with a SSB.

Here you can see clearly:

SSB carries mib and pss/sss.

Mib carries information about coreset 0, i.e. on which PDCCH coreset 0 is to be transmitted.

When UE decode coreset0, it can then decode PDSCH that carries SIB1 info

Hence SSB is not on coreset0.

Rather, SSB carries info about how and where to find coreset0.
