What's LAG (Link Aggregation Group) technology?

LAG stands for Link Aggregation Group

It’s about increasing the capacity of transmission system by combining multiple physical Ethernet Ports to be one logical interface

4i support higher capacity service with out the need for hardware upgrade

Also used to performance system redundancy and port backup

This technology controlled by LACP

LACP: Link Aggregation Control Protocol

This protocol help to send and receive control packets between devices to assign the LAG Ports and set the attributes and negotiate the speeds and other details of the LAG

LAG can be used in IP devices and microwave devices and also optical devices

It has 2 types:

  • Load sharing mode

  • Non load sharing mode

You can configure the mode as per the network application scenario.
