In the Uplink DCI there is a field called carrier indication.
Does anyone know what it is used for?
Carrier Indicator 0 or 3 bits
You mean dci 0.
That’s for CA.
It represent whether scheduling is for which carrier.
Basically it’s cross carrier scheduling.
So using this field gnb informs UE on which carrier it can transmit its PUSCH?
Since it’s 3 bits does than mean there are up to 8 carriers UE can transmit over?
Yes. This field is there in DL DCI also.
Does gNB indicate only one of the carriers out of the 8 for UE to transmit its PUSCH?
It all depends on UE and gNB capability.
