Hello Experts,
What is the importance of FNI and FOA in Telecom?
Are both the same?
FNI or First Network Integration is used in telecom to describe the initial phase of operation for a new network or technology, where the first integration and operational testing take place. Generally involves verification processes and network parameter adjustments to ensure it functions correctly before being widely deployed. This is crucial for mobile or telecom networks, where a successful operation depends on precise configuration and rigorous testing.
FOA or First Office Application is also used in telecom to refer to the first real application of a new product, technology, or service in a production environment, that is, in an operational network. In practice it islike a “pilot” in a real environment, but on a limited scale, where the technology is tested with a few clients or in a specific area before wider deployment. The objective is to validate functionality, performance, and resolve any issues that may arise under real-world conditions, allowing adjustments before large-scale implementation.
Both FNI and FOA are important steps to ensure a new technology is ready to be safely and reliably launched to the market.
FOA is primarily a vendor-driven testing phase, while FNI is focused on the operational integration of the technology from the perspective of network operators.
So first we do FOA and then FNI.
