Is AF an entity or only a logical function?
What is the best example of AF except P-CSCF?
AF was designed to be consumed by applications other than P-CSCF, but was never really used for anything other than the P-CSCF.
Some of the MCPTT functionality rely on the functionality to setup dedicated bearers, but that’s the only other use case I’m aware of.
I think you are reffering to AFG least popular member of IMS family.It is called Authentication Federation Gateway.Which is there to support your supplimentary service activation/Deactivation from UE.So in IMS when you activate call forwarding or de activate call forwarding etc.that is done by this node.
