What is the meaning of DUT used in telecom?

Admin note: this post was updated with image below.

DUT is abbreviation of Device Under Test.

DUT is most common, but sometimes you can find equivalent EUT (Equipment Under Test) and even UUT (Unit Under Test).

In telecom, it is for example when a new device (UE User Equipment) is being tested (manufactured product undergoing testing).

This testing phase usually happens before device (product) is sold. But can also happens after some recall/repair.

It can also be a prototype to be tested until some stress situation, to test device limits.

DUT is a common word used by Quality and Device Engineers. Usually they test random devices, but also can be a test for all manufactured devices.

Tests can be performed manually or automatic, like tests using robotics or scientific measuring tools.
