Hi all,
What could be the main reason for a VoLTE call to be active while the payload remains zero?
Are you saying the call is active on one cell, but when you check the VoLTE traffic (ERL) for that cell, it shows zero?
No, Volte call is working on cell but Data Payload(Gbps) is Zero.
How do we typically identify calls and traffic?
It’s done through specific counters, but what happens if they are not activated in the respective OEM OSS for that cell?
Hi Suppose you have EPC core network then.Media is anchored on following points only.1)UE 2)END 3)PGW 4)BGF So If you have done live capture from IMSI or MSISDN you need to be to able capture RTP.My first question is did you hear any voice from UE?Usually call is not allowed to continue for long time if media path is not establied end to end and this control is at IMS.There is a parameter called media supervision when you switch it one if media is not ditected for some time (10 seconds are the usual value for this).Call will be disconnected by IMS.There can be another reason for this. Ue can have multiple IPs and can have one or IPs for each apn if network allowed it.Usually this is controlled by PCRF.In a well planed network UE will have one Ipv6 IP and various ports of that IP will be used to each communication for and example SIP port is 5060 .Media port is around 20k range. So it might be those IPs are not configured in the capturing tools and only control plain might have been configured. If you heard some voice but didnt see it in cpature above mentioned once might be the reason. If you dont heare anything also then might be due to either codec mismath or transcoding not happening correctly in MGWs.—Thank you
