Understanding scg-ConfigResponseNR-r15 IE

Experts:

Where can I find the details of scg-ConfigResponseNR-r15 IE?

What does the values 40 and 80 mean for this IE.

It is for special case.

And is an octet.

But no idea what it means.

I searched 38.331 for it and coudl not find it

This is a response message to the required scg configuration update from the UE side to the master eNB.

And the master eNB send x2 -sg-nb reconfiguration message to scg node (gNB).

I hope shared message is part of the flow for NSA (after sg - nb addition).

But isn’t it an RRC reconfiguration complete message?

This doesn’t go over X2.

Yes.

I mean the message shared is the RRC reconfiguration comple message from UE to master eNB that contains the SCG configuration response for nr.

Then master eNB send the updated information to the via x2-sg- nb- reconfiguration complete to SCG node.

Hope I understood the question correctly and not mixing up things :grinning:

Idea was to understand what was that value 80 from his picture:

Yup got it… Let me check.

In change request R2-2007286.

It has been added that if the rrcconnectionreconfiguration msg contains the Nr-secondarycellgroupconfig than add scg-configresponseNR IN accordance however the value of this ie is not mentioned anywhere can you share your rrc Reconfiguration msg with relevant part.

I am also not able to find the value. So is @RFSpecialist.

@vikas.nain, from which vendor traces you got this snapshot?

No clear mention about the value anywhere. Might be vendor specific value. Might require vendor doc for this.

Though it seems that 2 different value for the response message might relate to successful update of the configuration and other one is related to configuration failure procedure.

This is max I can observe here after checking available docs.

This is decoding issue.

The tool is able to decode LTE RRC but not embeded NR payload.

As an example 40 here :point_up_2: may be indicative of SCG getting released.

Thanks All.

These are snaps from logs during DT, I was not able to get from eNodeB.

What I have concluded is that 80 is used when SCG is released and 40 while being added.

80 is in reply to this message

Or might relate to successful update of the configuration and other one is related to configuration failure procedure.

Not sure though.

Anyway which vendor data is this?

It’s a Rakuten own phone.
