Starlink farm brings fiber‑based internet to the Amazon

Starlink enters wholesale market! :satellite:

:index_pointing_up:t2: A unique “Starlink farm” has been discovered in the Brazilian Amazon, redistributing satellite internet via fiber optics :satellite:

In the city of Tabatinga, right on the border with Peru, hundreds of antennas have been installed — this massive installation was created to capture the satellite signal and subsequently transmit it to local residents via fiber optic cables. :antenna_bars:

This hybrid approach allows connectivity to be provided to regions where laying main ground networks through the jungle is impossible or too expensive.

:index_pointing_up:t2:However, the operation of this “farm” is fraught with a number of technical and legal difficulties:
SpaceX rules explicitly prohibit the resale of traffic as an isolated product without prior permission.

Despite the “gray” status of such solutions, Starlink continues to rapidly capture the Brazilian market.

According to the regulator, there are already more than 660,000 active users in the country, and one can only guess how much traffic is being resold.
