For NR do we use SRS for Angle of arrival calculation or not?
I’m not able to find it in specs.
SRS for AoA calculation is for UE positioning.
1)For DL angle-based they propose using the AoD/ZoD from the gNB → triangulation.
Beam sweeping using CSI-RS at the gNB side with the UE taking RSRP measurements and then reporting the vector of measurements.
Compare the RSRP vector to fingerprints of pre-stored angles and estimate AoD/ZoD.
2)For UL angle-based they propose using the AoA/ZoA at the gNB → triangulation.
Use SRS and make angle estimate based on received signal.
