Hello everyone,
I’m interested in pursuing a career in the telco cloud domain and would appreciate any advice or guidance on how to get started and progress in this field. What skills and knowledge are most important? Are there specific certifications, technologies, or hands-on projects that you recommend focusing on?
Also, if anyone can share their own experiences or point me toward useful resources or communities, that would be incredibly helpful.
Thanks in advance for your support!
Telco cloud are still heavily reliant on private cloud but there are signs of moving in to public cloud but only signs so if you seek employment in near future following areas will be valuable
1)Sound knowledge on Telco architecture–(this is a must what ever the cloud knowledge youare thinking of aquiring (EPC,3G,5G SA,5G NSA and IMS)
2)Openstack Telco cloud(OTC)
3)Openshift containarised platform(OCP)
4)Kubernetis
5)Ansible Automation Platform(AAP)

please sir i’m confused what do u mean
so if you want to learn telecom architecture you need to get involved in forums like this plus need to reed the RFC documents.I am not recommending to read any othr document than RFC since it is the real deal so item no 2 3 and 5 which are OTC,OCP and AAP all three are from Redhat so get the red hat learning portal subscription little expensive I think it is aroound 650 usd per anum but if you sre dedicated enough through that itself you can land a job if you ge through the certifications.Kubernetis was a open source project as far as I know and you can straight away find the material freely available in there website itself and the certification only its going to cost few amount.
Thank you for the valuable advice! I’m willing to invest in subscriptions like the Red Hat learning portal and get certified because I understand their importance for mastering telecom architecture.
I know it won’t be easy, especially given the challenges of being in an African country where opportunities in telecom can be limited. Getting the subscription itself will be a struggle financially, but I’m determined to make it happen. I’m ready to work hard and overcome these obstacles to improve my skills and increase my chances of landing a job, whether locally or internationally.
I’d appreciate any advice on how to maximize the value of these investments in my context.
