Hello everyone,
I’m trying to understand the relationship between hardware filter bandwidth in an RRU (Remote Radio Unit) and the actual deployed carrier bandwidth in a real-world LTE or NR network.
For example, I’m working with a Huawei RRU5254, which supports:
- Band 40 (2300 MHz): Instantaneous Bandwidth (IBW) = 100 MHz
- Band 41 (2600 MHz): IBW = 194 MHz
- Occupied Bandwidth (OBW): up to 100 MHz or 120 MHz depending on band
My question is:
If I deploy a single 20 MHz LTE carrier (e.g., at 2340–2360 MHz) on this RRU, does the RF filter still operate across the full 100 MHz (e.g., 2300–2400 MHz), or does it dynamically “narrow” to just 20 MHz?
