Many times, IoT devices connectivity reset resolves several connectivity issues. An IoT device can be reset by performing a manual reset (Switching On/Off) or via the network. A manual reset is not feasible if the devices are already deployed in the production environment. Remote connectivity reset would be the best solution.
Do you know what messages from the core network (HLR) towards MSC/VLR/SGSN can help in resetting the device connectivity? This would mean the device should perform attachment procedure again.
We used to remove device context from MME (called IMSI purging) in order for it to do full suite of attachment with network.
However device was usually in flight mode.
I think same can be done whilst device is connected.
Although dont know what will be the impact.
