Question about MCS and its relation to TBS

Hello experts
When we choose higher MCS index for example 22 versus MCS 10 do we expect the TBS size to increase or decrease? The lower MCS index has more redundancy lower coding rate on my understanding so does that mean the TBS is more conservative mcs?

Yes,

As MCS increases the corresponding code rate and modulation increases So that we can fit more number of information bits which is nothing but increase in TBS

For the same number of resource blocks, increasing MCS increases TBS and decreasing MCS decreases TBS

For the same TBS, increasing MCS decreases number of RBs and decreasing MCS increases the number of RBs
