Private 5G - Fujitsu

In Japan’s Tochigi Prefecture, a private 5G network has been operational in Fujitsu’s Oyama facility since 2021 :globe_with_meridians:.

Fujitsu provides digital transformation (DX) for plant operations :factory:, including field automation :robot: and remote support :hammer_and_wrench:, thanks to the network’s 4.7 GHz and 28 GHz expanded frequency bands. Fujitsu Telecom Networks Limited will leverage cutting-edge technologies like AI :brain: and IoT :globe_with_meridians: to enable skill transfers as operations become more precise and automated. In addition, Fujitsu offers remote support and fieldwork training using mixed reality (MR) technology :dark_sunglasses:.

To automate highly accurate position measurement :round_pushpin: and route control :vertical_traffic_light: through real-time communication :satellite: with automatic guided vehicles (AGVs) traveling inside the factory while transporting parts within facilities, Fujitsu has specifically introduced a 4.7 GHz band network, which can cover a wide range :world_map:. Many 4K cameras :camera: installed in the factory quickly transfer images of the products and work processes to an edge computing environment using a 28 GHz band network for assembly work :wrench:.

This deployment enables real-time AI picture analysis :framed_picture: and provides employees with immediate feedback :chart_with_upwards_trend: on whether they are making the proper assembly-related motions :white_check_mark:.
