Power splitters installed closed together

Hi Experts.

We have installed one eNB with 3 antennas as an outdoor cell site.

It is out in the farms, no worry about traffic, only spreading coverage.

But there is one point: Is there any problem when installing the power splitters close together like in the picture?

Can it cause any intermodulation or interference problem?

Has anyone faced a setup like this?

Power splitters are passive parts, so if they don’t have any hardware issue will not have any issue.

Normally we separate them.

You can put one in one side of the antenna support and the another in the other side of the support.

But could be interference if the splitter has a leakage in the shield.

Maybe a sitemaster could see this leakage for you, but I think splitters nowadays is too cheap that a test with a instument could be more costly.

Sure, they are passive components, no amplifier to generate IM products.

I was worried because they are so close that they could possibly couple across each other.

I’ll take this as a recommendation. I agree with you, thanks!

Update:

I just found the same thing in field, just the same problem…

Thanks! This confirms the suspicion.

It might cross couple the signals due to distance.
