OpenRAN and O-RAN have been the topic of conversation lately, with many questions and doubts surrounding their performances or features.
While some vendors claim “no focus” on OpenRAN. But I see some of their lesser-known associates actively participating in the O-RAN forum or OpenRAN ‘JVs’
Nokia and Ericsson are talking continuously these days, igniting the beginning of massive Open RAN/O-RAN deployments in the coming months and years. [ Refer - Article ]
For B5G/6G, a Disaggregated Architecture with an AI/ML-enabled SMO will be a must to handle Radios serving in MHz to Thz with more and more, smaller hotspots.
That seals the final call for the take-off.
