NTT DOCOMO has introduced a new range of services under its OREX brand. Its main aim is to become a global leading Open RAN service provider with innovation, engineering, and vast operating experiences.
Also, the aim is to promote transparency and understanding for international telecom operators about the services offered under OREX. 
OREX offers Open RAN solutions developed in collaboration with multiple vendors, reducing costs and streamlining network design processes. OREX Open RAN services aim to reduce the TCO by up to 30% for Service Providers. Further, it can streamline network design processes by up to 50% and decrease power consumption at base stations by up to 50%. 
With OREX RAN, the advantages of Open RAN can be multiplied by combining solutions and components from various vendor products. OREX offers an array of virtualized radio base networks (vRANs) and radio units (RUs) solutions, compatible with various frequencies used in different countries. Adding seven new RU vendors allows OREX to cater to a more significant customer base. 
OREX SMO provides software that automates the design, configuration, and monitoring of wireless access networks, reducing workload and optimizing operations. 
OREX Services offers procurement, system integration, and post-implementation support. OREX Services addresses the procurement and system integration for adopting OREX RAN and OREX SMO and offers operational support and maintenance post-implementation.
DoCoMo is taking Rakuten’s large-scale attempt even further.
