LTE protocol testing

Hi all
I am a Drive Test engineer and have 2.5 years of experience.
I wanna change my job .
I want to be in LTE protocol testing job

The problem is whenever I search for LTE protocol Job via various platform I always find that ,job provider asking for minimum 2 years of experience, hence I don’t have any experience .

How to get that job role in INDIA??
Is someone here who can help me.

Hi @praveen_Singh

Many engineers from a Drive Test / RF Optimization background face the same challenge when trying to move into LTE Protocol Testing. Since protocol testing focuses more on signaling analysis and Layer-3 procedures, companies usually look for candidates who understand the LTE protocol stack (RRC, NAS, PDCP, RLC, MAC) and can analyze signaling logs.

A good approach is to start building knowledge in LTE signaling procedures such as Attach procedure, RRC Connection Setup, Bearer Setup, Handover, and RACH procedure. Also try to get some hands-on practice with log analysis tools like Wireshark or QXDM, because most protocol testing interviews include questions about message flow and log analysis.

Since you already have 2.5 years of telecom experience, switching to protocol testing is definitely possible. You can try to:

1- Learn LTE protocol stack and signaling procedures
2- Practice LTE log analysis
3- Highlight telecom knowledge in your resume
4- Apply for Protocol Testing / Log Analysis / Integration roles

Many engineers have successfully moved from Drive Test to Protocol Testing with the right preparation.
