LTE CA with MIMO & SISO mix of cells

Hello Professionals.

Do you know if there are any limitations from the 3GPP standard to activate LTE Carrier Aggregation between two component carriers the 1st with MIMO & the 2nd with SISO?

I.e. 2CC CA: 2x2 MIMO + 1x1 SISO?

Yes! I have the same question. It seems that in Nokia it is not possible but how about the standard?

Didn’t see.

The UE’s capabilities (supported CA band combo and max DL layers).

With Ericsson I am almost sure that if it is possible, at least I have the experience of 2CC CA: 4x4 MIMO + 2x2 MIMO and 3CC CA: 4x4 MIMO + 4x4 MIMO + 2x2 MIMO, although it is not exactly similar.

If your vendor is Nokia and you are running SBTS24 earlier version, you can configure SISO as Supporting cell only to a MIMO cell.

If you are running SBTS25 or later version you have to enable the feature CB007300 / CB012758 (DL CA with mixed transmission modes).

by configuring the parameter actMixedMimoTMs,

After this feature you can configure the SISO in both senarios primary and support to a MIMO.
