Looking for advice: how to send transactional SMS from US/India to China (+86)

Hi everyone,

I’m currently testing a system to send transactional SMS (OTP / verification messages) from my US/India-based servers to Chinese mobile numbers (+86).

I’ve already tried several gateways (Twilio, Infobip, MessageBird, Sinch), but the delivery rate is very low or messages are delayed or filtered by Chinese carriers (CMCC / CUCC / CTCC).

I’m looking for technical advice on:

  • Which international routes/providers currently have working connections to China.
  • Any known restrictions or configurations required for A2P SMS to China.
  • Common reasons for message rejection (error codes, DLR failures, content filtering).

If you’ve successfully set up SMS delivery to China before, I’d love to hear your experience or recommended setup.

most reliable way is to get a Bulk SMS solution from a local operator to suite your budget since these days web SMS firewall solutions are quite advance and do not forward spam to there customers .There are certain things which you can do like avoide text as calling party(DCS changes) etc. to optimse web based solutions but. If you are doing a legitimate business I dont think it is enough.there are careers like pivotel,belgacom who delivers to china but those are career grade and I dont think they will provide service for retailers.Best thing is to seek support from local operator.to get either SMPP or web based solution throughservice provider.
