In LTE, is SN STATUS TRANSFER during HO mandatory or optional?
If optional, can you please mention a use case.

I think it is mandatory because target eNB needs to know from which SN it can expect data from UE in UL or from sGW in DL.

It’s mandatory because target eNodeB should need to know the status of which packets send or receive and status of the information status a MAC buffer side these information will provide source eNodeB to the target eNodeB.

I think for UM service, such as Volte HO, no need SN status transfer.
