Improve Rank2 MIMO ratio

The antenna is new, Huawei AAU.

SINR value is at per like other sectors?

This specific cell has the best SIR in the eNodeB.
The PRB usage is about 20%.

You can do logical swap with other cell for confirmation of HW or Antenna port issue.

Do you mean switch the antennas?

Yes, via logical swap.

Payload ration of that cell?
I mean if demand is low then also MIMO can be low.
Also check parameters to switch between Tx mode.

The demand is higher than the other cells.
And moreover, the rank2 % should not be less than 1%.

Sorry, don’t understand. Do you mean physically change the antennas or swap the ports?

For Huawei I don’t know, but in Nokia we can do change in port connecton via software - exactly without physical changes.

You can also check SFP module, RSSI.
Also are you sure both ports are working?

For quick judgement if HW issue or not:
G on field with MIMO device in good SINR and do iPerf check if UE continuously reporting RI2.
If yes, then check statistics at that time.
If stats still poor, then must be HW issue.

Alternatively you can also check what MIMO scheduled to UE.

Check for Alarms.
Check for VSWR.
Check for Crossfeeder.
Check for TA Distribution.
Check if the antenna tilt is negative, taking traffic from very far. So if UE is not in good RF condition then it wouldn’t not be scheduled with MIMO rank 2.

What is your current setting like:
LST MIMOADAPTIVEPARACFG

MIMO is configured as closed loop adaptive.
Between tm2 and tm4.

But I don’t think it is from configuration side.
I ran a parameter check and it was the same as the other cells.

Sure. If configuration issue then it would be zero always.

Have you checked Crossfeeder?
Run command and start crossfeeder test. (If I am not wrong, command is STR CROSFEEDTST).
To verifiy Feeder Swap.

You can also get idea if both ports RSSI is imbalance.
RRU both ports RSSI should be same, similar.

But first check if VSWR value is Ok (below 1.5).

Tip: check first commad detail in Hedex before running any command on Network.

STR Cross FeedTST is highly risk command.

It give outage of 5-10 minutes depending.
But for one site it’s no problem I believe.

Maybe they do not have a CR.

Yes right, WAP order should be raised.
