Hi Experts.

If we have number of RBs reduced is the optimal MCS different than a larger MCS?

I.e. let’s say we have RBs equal 10 with MCS 4 and we have changes number of RBs to 20, what would be reasonable MCS change?

Yes, increase in RBs will reduce the MCS, provided the TBS is same.

You can look it up from the 3GPP TBS table to get the exact values.

Yup exactly.

Even you can apply do it the other way around to improve PRB usage by applying MCS upgrade and resource allocation features to reduce PRB usage at the expense of increasing MCS.

Hi,

In LTE Huawei vendor you can activate “MCS Selection With Prioritized RBs” feature, then set desire value for " RbPriMcsSelectMaxDecTbsIdx".
