One of the common methods is the standard mapping.
I’m this method if the service of the client side device is less than 2.5 Gbps.
The WDM OTN equipment will divide the ODU1 frame into multiple time slots.
Each Time slot is 155 Mbps capacity.
And will map the client side service in to one or more time slots.
As below example, we can send multiple types of service like Ethernet , SDH and storage network Data.
STM 1 will occupy 1 Time slot
FC 100 will occupy 6 slots
GE will need 7 slots
In this method we can achieve high bandwidth utilization.
This is called standard mapping method.
We have ODU flex mapping method.
