How many HARQ timers are maintained in UL?

Hi Experts.

Does anyone know how many HARQ timers are maintained in UL?

For LTE, there is a Max amount of Retransmissions in UL (RLC layer).

If that amount is reached then the UE will consider a Radio Link Failure, after that the RRC Connection Re-establishment & T311 are triggered.

I was thinking more of the MAC/PHY HARQ retx.

In NR it is the one set to be 16.
Not sure how they are maintained.
If we have DDDUU frame structure.

Is it that 2 processes are sent every period?
