Hi everyone,
I’m currently working at ZTE as a Technical Support CS Voice (NOC role), after a 6-month IMS support internship. I’m in my final year of engineering and actively trying to transition towards a Back Office (Core/PS/IMS) position.
At the moment, I’m focusing heavily on PS Core learning (EPC architecture, interfaces, signaling flows, traces, KPIs, alarms) with a structured plan, while also being exposed to IMS through internal programs.
My challenge is that I want to move from NOC (monitoring/support) to a more technical Back Office role, where I can work deeper on troubleshooting, signaling analysis, and configuration.
For those who have successfully made this transition:
-
What were the key skills or milestones that made the difference?
-
What should I prioritize to be considered “BO-ready”?
-
Any advice on positioning myself internally (projects, visibility, communication)?
I’m already working on improving my skills (self-study + hands-on + traces), so I’m really looking for practical guidance from your experience.
Thanks in advance.
