With that logic, all schools, colleges, and coaching, training companies should be free for everyone.
What people are going to do who are employed and run their families through these mediums?
Would love to know your thoughts on how you are going to help all these people?
Sir,
Knowledge has always been freely available in this world, but as we’ve learned since childhood, “time equals money.”
When someone dedicates their time and experience to teach, asking for compensation is both logical and fair. My intention was to highlight that if anyone feels stuck in their career - like working with one technology for ten years - it’s always possible to make a move by learning something new.
Again, I want to mark this, Free knowledge is everywhere today.
However, many people choose paid learning options because there’s a belief that paying brings better service or results, which makes sense from a psychological perspective. It’s a personal choice—some people prefer self-learning, while others value the structured, guided support that paid education offers.
I share these thoughts only to motivate everyone, including myself, to never stop learning. Continuous growth is important at every stage of life. I truly do not wish to hurt or disrespect anyone’s personal or professional journey.
Each person’s path - whether as a learner or an educator - deserves appreciation.
If anyone needs support or wants to discuss new learning paths, I’m always happy to help. Let’s keep growing together.
I agree, but most of the time, in the veil of free support, people try to sell their (or somebody else’s) courses.
You can agree to disagree but we all know that nothing is free in this world.
And as they say
If you are not paying for the services you use, You are not their customer, You are their products and they are selling you to their customer.
Hi everyone, I’m just an audience here, but I wanted to share a quick thought.
I really appreciate the points shared from both sides. It’s true that knowledge today is more accessible than ever, but at the same time, I also understand and respect the efforts of those who teach and make a living out of it.
I think both self-learning and paid learning have their own place.
What matters most is intention and how we uplift each other in the process.
Just thought I’d share my feedback—thank you.
I completely agree with this.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
I think it’s important to have these conversations, especially in a time where the lines between free sharing and commercial intent can sometimes blur.
Personally, I believe both free and paid learning have value - it all depends on the individual’s context and the intent behind the sharing.
I’d support sharing this discussion more widely - it can definitely spark reflection in others too.
Thanks to all of you for keeping it meaningful and balanced.
Except for the resources from nature and that too which self sustain and evolve eg air sunshine and many more nothing is actually free.
So when learning is free then it’s actually free for the beneficiary when in the hindsight it has been paid by someone else either thru indirect purchase, CSR funds and many more.
Hence its a composite of strategy (including volunteering) and the length+scope of the knowledge chosen to be disseminated which holds centrestage and shows up in the market place.
We may agree to feel good that knowledge is getting in free but at the same time have to be prepared to find it for a price since it’s a matter of sustenance for someone.
For it to be free for everyone and in a democratic way, then offcourse the common way is funding via tax payers money.
Well said
.
Even when learning feels free, someone’s time, effort, or money is usually behind it.
It’s all about balance - making knowledge accessible while still valuing the people and systems that make it possible.
That’s how we create something sustainable and fair for everyone.
Knowledge is not the deal breaker these days.Due to the technological advancements knowledge has become a common comodity which is a good thing in my view. For an example if you have a good internet connection these days can learn anything without going to a uni or a collage for tution. So knowledge or certification which proves aquisition of knowledge doesnt mean much except for a PHD which is a reserch.Nowadays industry is looking for the skill more than anything else.So try to practice what you have learned in parallel .
