When we change a 2x2 MIMO antenna to a 4x4 antenna, do we double the throughput?
Is there any “calculation” that shows this gain?
If UE got 4 RX antenna then it can get double throughput than 2x2 MIMO when radio environment is good.
So, talking to some people at Ericsson, they told me that this tput gain would be around 30%.
and that’s when I got thinking about how the gain obtained in MIMO 4x4 would be calculated.
The throughput gain in theory is 2 for UEs in good condition, while for all UEs in a cell the average throughput gain cannot reach 2 because many UEs are in conditions not so good, or even poor.
