Does beamforming always use MU-MIMO in 5G?

Yes agree it’s like csi-rs reference signal and csi-rs ports always there.
But no guarantee for CSI-RS beams.

Hi All,
Question again for 4G and 5G: which vendor has 24 simultaneous PDSCH layers for MU-MIMO scenario?
Not CA layers but on same carrier to have 24 layers for pdsch for MU-MIMO scenario
Must be Samsung, Nokia or Ericsson because Huawei has it 16 max even in RAN5.1.

For LTE, I can see 24 layers for MU-MIMO, which is mentioned as trial purpose.

Which vendor?
Do you see it on RAN side or UE side?

Huawei. Just mentioned in Hedex.
I don’t know how they are accomodating 24 layers.

Are you sure it was referring to 24 layers in LTE?
Don’t confuse it with single UE supporting 24 layers for various CA scenarios.

No…it’s not CA scenario.
You can search for it in eRAN16.1 version Hedex.
They have given one table.

I found it as trial number 131603.
In that table yes, 24 DL layers.
