Does a 5G UE phone with FR2 capabilities, scan FR2 frequencies and camp on that FR2 cell?

Hi all,

I was wondering if a 5G UE with FR2 capabilities, scan FR2 frequencies and start acquisition procedure with a FR2 Cell?.

Let’s suppose that hypothetically there is only one FR2 cell in that area connected to a 5G core network only.

During attach BTS asks for UE capability.

If the current site device camped on has FR2 cell it will ask for this.

If not, it will not ask for FR2 capability.

If the serving site has FR2, UE will periodically try to measure FR2 signal (either B1 in NSA or qrxlevmin in SA SIB1).

when you say SA SIB1, this SI is sent by the FR2 only Cell? Please keep in mind my hypothetical scenario where there is a 5G CN and ONLY one cell with FR2 antennas only.
