Background: Investigated a field-reported performance issue where TikTok stalls on the DUT but not on a reference device under poor coverage. In the DUT log, I found it didn’t report SINR although requested by eNB in meas config, in accordance with its UE capability. Tested and confirmed the reference device reports SINR under the same condition.
Question: The eNB normally performs link adaptation based on CQI. However, I came across a tech paper suggesting that incorporating SINR into the link adaptation algorithm.
This raises the question: do any vendors or operators actually use SINR for link adaptation in commercial networks?
