I have a query regarding AML (Advanced Mobile Location) service. In this service, when a user dials an emergency number, an SMS with their location is also sent to the emergency service center simultaneously.
However, in our network, we are experiencing delays in receiving this SMS, particularly on iPhone devices. In some cases, the delay exceeds 30 seconds.
Has anyone encountered a similar issue, or does anyone have insights into the possible causes and solutions?
The handsets are required to gather information about their location information to be as accurate as possible, but within a given time period.
Once that time period expires, the device sends the best location it has with the level of accuracy indicated in the AML message.
For example if Iām indoors, a handset might use WiFi estimation while trying to get a GPS fix, the delay is while all this happens, and the 30 seconds is the max time the phone is given before providing some kind of location information.
