Connection of CPEs to a TR-069/CWMP server in a FWA Network

Hello everyone!

I’m currently working on a FWA Network, where i’m using some technologies like Open5gs as my CORE, and GenieACS as my CWMP server.

The problem i’m currently facing (and hoping someone can help me with) is that i haven’t found a consistent way of sending my TR-069 server FQDN to my CPEs.

Of course there’s always the option of manually setting this kind of configuration on each device, but that would be a problem in scenarios where the equipment might need to be reset.

My idea is that we could find some way of automatically sending this Address to each equipment, the same way it’s usually done in FTTH networks, via OLT. That way, even when resetted, the equipment would receive it’s parameters via the CWMP server, and then return to it’s intended configurations.

No, we haven’t. But the problem is not the ACS server itself. Is about finding a way to send the ACS server address to the equipment so it can access it! If i do it manually - entering the device management UI, setting the ACS server address manually - it’ll work like intended.

What i want is a way of doing it without having to enter it manually! At first i thought of storing the address inside the SIM card, and make the CPE get it some way. Couldn’t pull it off.
