They need 6G, because their journey on 5G isn’t getting any easier.
Yes, but they’re running very fast. 
6G for now are just trials.
Nobody really knows what technologies will 6G adopt.
Even we are still struggling to give 4G indoor coverage.
6G may used for other planets 
I think for next few years Open RAN will be hot topic in telecom so most of jobs will under it.
What kind of skill set/certification will be required for such jobs?
Expertise in protocol stack, good knowledge of physical layer as per our group standard.
If you can enter in cloud domain, then sky is limit.
