Channel Modelling of 6G Mobile Networks

6G will also be the key technology for delivering similar broadband connectivity for both upload and download services. Broadband upload capability is critical for uplink bandwidth-hungry applications such as the Metaverse.

Little is known about the communication transmission channels in the terahertz region of the frequency spectrum. A channel model represents the effects of a communication medium through which wireless signals are transmitted.

A good channel model is key to the design, architectural trade-offs, and performance optimization of wireless networks. This article presents an accurate channel loss model for 6G THz networks covering the frequency range from 100 GHz to 600 GHz.

The new channel loss model is an accurate and reliable tool for evaluating the performance of 6G THz networks. This channel model enables performance evaluation of key performance indicators such as signal-to-noise ratio and bit error rate with high accuracy.
