CaRateCoeff in Carrier Aggregation

Hello everyone,

I need some help from Ericsson experts regarding the Carrier Aggregation (CA) function and the CaRateCoeff parameter.

The documentation states that a lower CaRateCoeff value results in higher throughput for CA UEs. However, the explanation of the values seems to suggest something different:

  • Value 1 corresponds to 20% of the cell rate
  • Value 9 corresponds to full cell rate + 80% of the rate from other cell components

This appears contradictory. How exactly does CaRateCoeff influence throughput in the context of minimum rate proportional fair scheduling?

Would appreciate any insights! Thanks.

I believe you are referring to caRateAdjustCoeff rather than CaRateCoeff. This parameter affects the scheduler rate, not the UE rate.

From my understanding, a lower value means that the scheduler rate is lower, allowing CA UEs to maintain their aggregated throughput for a longer duration. However, the wording in the documentation is quite confusing.

Can anyone confirm or clarify this interpretation?
