- It requires a niche set of engineering skills
- It takes forever to develop the “intuition” required
- It requires iteration, mistakes, and repetition
- Analog blocks need to be redesigned for every tech node
What if we can use modern “intelligence” tools to greatly accelerate the design to 80%+, and then allow human intuition to take over?
- Provide a set of specifications. Have AI generate a working design
- Make layouts “correct-by-design”
- Automatically pass DRC/LVS and include parasitics
- Use AI to “port” designs from one tech node to another
