About the OSS and NOC category

Topics on OSS systems, NOC operations, network monitoring, alarms, fault management, and real-time visibility in Telecom environments.

:small_blue_diamond: Full category description:

Welcome to the OSS and NOC category — a space dedicated to the tools, platforms, and teams that ensure telecom networks are monitored, managed, and maintained around the clock.

Aligned with telecomHall’s mission to connect professionals in Telecom, Technology, AI, and Innovation, this category focuses on Operational Support Systems (OSS) and Network Operations Centers (NOCs) — essential components for service quality and network health.

Here, members can:

  • Discuss OSS tools for fault, performance, configuration, and inventory management
  • Share best practices for NOC operations and 24/7 network monitoring
  • Collaborate on alarm correlation, root cause analysis, and proactive maintenance
  • Explore integrations with AI/ML for automation and anomaly detection

:magnifying_glass_tilted_left: Why use this category?

Because keeping the network running smoothly requires efficient monitoring, fast response, and intelligent operations — and that’s where OSS and NOC teams shine.

:vs_button: How is it different from other categories?

While other categories focus on network elements or technologies, this one is about how we observe, manage, and respond to network behavior — the operational layer behind the scenes.

:white_check_mark: What should topics include?

  • OSS architecture and vendor tools (e.g., Ericsson ENM, Huawei U2020, NetAct)
  • Alarm management and ticketing processes
  • Dashboards, KPIs, and service assurance strategies
  • Shift routines, incident handling, and escalation procedures
  • NOC automation, AIOps, and AI-driven monitoring

:puzzle_piece: Do we need this category?

Absolutely. OSS and NOC are vital to operational excellence — this category supports the professionals who ensure uptime, performance, and service quality across telecom networks.

NOC - Network Operations Center and also O&M - Operation and Maintenance. A network operations center (NOC) is a centralized place from which enterprise information technology (IT) administrators – either internal or third party – supervise, monitor and maintain a telecommunications network. Accessing equipment (OLT / GPON / BTS/NodeB/eNodeB/gNodeB etc) to change Configuration, Addition, Deletion, Authentication and also generate Reports on real time basis. It may be centrally controlled or may be locally.

OSS Commands. OSS Ericsson OSS-RC, ENM… OSS Huawei M2000, U2000, U2020… OSS Nokia: NetAct . Etc.
