5G security is often underestimated.
Many see 5G as just a faster internet.
But without securing its interfaces, 5G is vulnerable.
- Without proper encryption, data is exposed.
- Without updates, 5G systems are vulnerable.
- Without constant monitoring, threats go undetected.
There are many types of interfaces in 5G.
Each interface poses security challenges.
However, I only discuss the important ones.
- Air Interface
- Xn Interface
- O&M Interface
- N2/ N3 Interface
- SBA Interface
- N6 Interface
- N32 Interface
They have unique security needs.
I’ve discussed them in the carousel.
Essentially, it all comes down to:
- Collaboration between stakeholders
- Continuous education and training
- Adaptation to evolving threats
It’s a continuous effort.
And, proactive measures are required.
