5G VoNR doesn’t fix a broken system.
It just upgrades a working one.
It’s 5G’s own voice calling solution.
Built for 5G from the ground up.
It offers cleaner audio.
And no fallback to 4G mid-call.
So what happens during a VoNR call?
Here’s the typical flow:
- Call starts
- Device sends RRC Connection Request
- Network responds with RRC Connection Setup
- NAS Registration Request follows
- Network sends Registration Accept
- PDU Session is requested
- Session is accepted
- SIP INVITE goes out
- Alerting begins
- Call gets answered
- Call gets confirmed
- The conversation continues
- And finally, the call ends
These steps are common in Standalone (SA) 5G.
Other setups? Slightly different flows.
It sounds complex—because it is.
But users don’t notice the steps.
They just feel the difference.
