5G-NR vRAN Architecture - Virtualised and Disaggregated
Service providers look at vRAN and Cloud RAN as Short-term evolution strategies. Open/O-RAN is positioned to be a Mid to Long Term bet. This is reflected in the recent mega-deals with Nokia and Ericsson by Service Providers who are key members of O-RAN associations.
I can imagine some factors like Stability, operability, performance, etc.
