Will Ericsson swap out Nokia?

Yes, agreed to it.

Think 75% of so cost of Telecom operator is of network infrastructure - employees, utility bills are way down in the list.

But Ericsson has huge projects in India.

They should need more engineers!

Most of circles / region Ericsson Project Completed and Operator are doing in house to reduce cost.

When Nokia acquired Siemens Mobile division something like 20 years ago they went to each customer and said: you have 6 more month support on all Siemens equipment after that no support, no spare parts.no software upgrades, no maintenance, nothing.

But Nokia offered each operator a swap for free to Nokia equipment.

Some operators did the swap but some operators swap out Siemens to Huawei.

This will happen as well if Samsung buys Nokia.

Will swap out all Nokia equipment in max 1 year and will fire entire Nokia personnel. :frowning:

Future of Telecom in picture below:

In max 25* years mobile internet will be free in major cities.

Not sure how MNOs will make money at that time…

* Maybe even sooner than 25 years, maybe in 10 years…

Ericsson is not swapping Nokia… AT&T announced that will not buy Nokia RAN products anymore, and will buy only Ericsson O-RAN instead.

It was a great deal for AT&T, but I guess that both Ericsson (charging too low) and Nokia (losing an important customer) lost.

This implies that there will huge requirement of enginners knowing Samsung systems.
